Mariener continues to expand its product line-up with additional variations of its Mariener Melange Sunglasses. Small tweaks have been made to the series and more versions will eventually be released throughout the year.

These new additions see the daylight just moments after two major sponsored events by Mariener. Mariener recently sponsored Dutch pro rugby player: Tim Visser’s first youth rugby clinic. (http://www.timvisserrugby.nl) Where our sunglasses were clearly visible on the heads of the coaches and volunteers, during practice but also during the many interviews Tim had to do during the day.

Our goggles were also present at the indoor freestyle skiing/snowboarding contest Jibsykings (http://www.jibsykings.be), where Mariener offered a couple of its Goggles as prizes for people to win.

The contests will be held during one day of the weekend. In order to make sure the conditions are optimal, on the Wednesday prior to the waiting period a call will be made whether the event will take place during that weekend and on which day. This call will be communicated via e-mail and www.hsa.nl, www.nksurftour.nl and www.surfweer.nl.

Co-operation with surf clubs
Also this year the HSA will work together with local surf clubs in the organisation of the different contests of the NK Surftour. The co-operation with Surf Association Rocky Point and Jumpteam Scheveningen are already confirmed.

Enrollment
Enrollment for competitors is open from this moment. This can be done via www.nksurftour.nl. The costs for enrollment are € 15 for each contest and each category. More information on enrollment can be found at the websites mentioned.

Partners
This year the NK Surftour will be supported by Surfblend, Mariener and Atlantic Riders. The KNRM Lifeguards will look after safety during the events whilst cruising the line-up with a waverunner. In co-operation with Surfweer.nl we will make sure that the right calls will be made and the best possible waves will be scored during the NK Surftour 2013!

The Mountain series is the company’s first line of snowboard and ski goggles. These goggles are built with the idea of wanting it all, but for an affordable price. The first two versions of the Mariener Mountain Goggles will carry a 30% VLT lens called the Rainbow lens. A beautiful multi colored reflective lens for all-round weather conditions.

Not too long ago we came across Navid Saleki. A well known Flatland BMX rider with both Swedish and Dutch roots seeking our interest and from there things started to roll. Navid made an interesting edit to introduce his fans and followers with Mariener and made it available on YouTube.

The collaboration between Navid and Mariener marks the beginning of a new era for Mariener as Navid is not only the first athlete to actively work together with us on a higher level; he also wears the crown of being the first to release a video for Mariener. Overall you could say we are pretty stoked about him being on our side and we look forward to the future!

Navid makes a great combination with Mariener. Not only is he an avid BMX Flatland rider, he is also an all-round extreme sports enthusiast. His versatility reflects in the product philosophy and brand direction that Mariener likes to follow.

For now it’s Mariener, a brand focused on affordable Sunglasses. But The Netherlands is a country with different climates, winter is coming and soon many sport enthusiasts will make their way to the Alps to start the winter season. We can’t unravel too much about our future plans but take it from us, we are in the midst of developing a fantastic product with a level of sophistication unmatched for the price setting that we have in mind.

About Navid Saleki

Navid Saleki has dedicated his life to extreme sports and found his true passion in Freestyle BMX. He has been riding for over 10 years and loves adventure, from climbing Aiguille du Midi in France, Cliff-diving in Sweden to riding BMX jams and competitions around Europe. Navid was born in Gothenburg, Sweden and currently lives in Groningen, The Netherlands. Self described as a good central place to live in to be able to travel around the world. His future plans are far from laid-back, new mountains to climb, skydiving as well as competing at the world championships in BMX.

Tim Visser is a Dutch-born Scottish rugby union player currently playing on the wing for Edinburgh Rugby in the RaboDirect Pro12 and the Heineken Cup and internationally representing Scotland. He is the first Dutch rugby player to play professionally.

His brother Sep Visser  is a Dutch rugby union player currently playing on the wing for Boroughmuir RFC and Edinburgh Rugby.
